Household Rain water system

With the water restrictions becoming a permanent fixture in the Western Cape, it is important to be able to have a reserve or alternate supply of water.

Rain water harvesting is the most common way of creating a backup.
Rain water is of good quality and reasonably simple to divert for use in the house. Tanks need to be installed for storage. Depending on the space available, the biggest storage should be installed. Two 5000l rain tanks will be enough storage to get a household of 4 persons off the municipal supply for up to 7/8months of the year.
